501(c)3

Hope for Helm is a charitable 501(c)3 non-profit foundation in partnership with Stand Strong Training Center. The mission of Hope for Helm is to help individuals who have experienced catastrophic, life-changing injuries or diagnoses move forward through life’s toughest challenges by providing access to adaptive physical training and community support.

Hope for Helm was originally established in 2014 to support Matt Helm and his family after a devastating accident left him paralyzed, and now is a charitable foundation to pay it forward and help others. Learn more about our origin story HERE.

WHO WE SERVE: OUR ADAPTIVE ATHLETES

Our Adaptive Athletes turn to us when they have nowhere else to go.

When life’s toughest challenges strike, we go through an acute phase of survival mode, doing whatever it takes to fix what's broken and make sense of what's happened. Then we move on to recovery and rehabilitation, trying to figure out how to operate under our new circumstances. Post-recovery, once insurance runs out and the rehab centers tell us that we’re not showing any signs of continued improvement, that there's nothing else they can do, we’re left wondering what to do next and how we’re going to afford it.

This is where Hope for Helm comes in.

We provide support for physical training for adaptive athletes who want to continue their pursuit of possibility beyond what anyone else says can be done. We use science-based training but we also aren't afraid to think outside the box to see what's possible. We help our adaptive athletes get stronger physically, mentally, and emotionally, and we do it in a fun, encouraging, inclusive environment that ignites a spirit of HOPE.

Please consider donating below to help us continue to improve the lives of those who refuse to give up on possibility and continue to strive despite their circumstances.

LOOKING FOR ADAPTIVE TRAINING?

If you or someone you know is looking for adaptive training, please contact our partner, Stand Strong Training Center. They'll work with you to set up a free initial consultation to learn more about you and your goals and see how they can help.

CELEBRATING 10 YEARS of MOVING FORWARD

September 2, 2014 marked 10 years since Matt's life-changing spinal cord injury. Hope for Helm hosted a Topgolf Fundraiser event to honor and celebrate this day, and especially the positive impact we are able to have on others who have experienced similar life-changing circumstances.

THANK YOU to everyone who attended, donated, and to our generous sponsors for your support.

We raised over $36,000 for Hope for Helm to support our mission of helping adaptive individuals move forward!
